Upper Arm Tightening » OP Procedure

In spring and summer every lady likes to look her best in T-shirts, blouses or bathing costumes, but sometimes upper arm tightening is the only way...

The elasticity of the skin reduces with age or through significant weight loss, leading to an excess of skin and tissues under the skin, particularly on the inner arms and the inner thighs. Fat reduction on its own is insufficient in this case as the skin is unable to tighten up as it no longer retains enough elasticity. Noticeable improvements in shape can be achieved using liposuction.

Operation aim The aim of the operation is to achieve the best possible surgical results with the least amount of unsightly scars.
Operation procedure Before the operation can begin a line is marked on the inside of the arm from the elbow to the armpit. Once the patient is fully anaesthetised the incision is made and the excess skin removed. Smaller corrections with less excess skin can be done under a local anaesthetic. The stitches are made with a fine thread that later dissolves. Drainage removes any secretions from the wound. An elastic bandage compresses the wound to speed healing.
Clinic stay 1 - 2 days
Anaesthetic General anaesthetic
Post operation The drainages are removed 2-3 days after the operation. The compression bandage should be worn for 3 - 4 weeks. Your GP should check the healing 12 - 14 days after the operation Strenuous activities such as sport or cleaning the house should be avoided for approx. 6 - 8 weeks
Complications Complications: No doctor can give an absolute guarantee that there are no risks. General dangers in operations such as thrombosis or embolism are much less common thanks to advances in medical science. Mobility is not limited after the operation. The operation usually leaves an inconspicuous scar. In cases where the scar is more obvious further corrective surgery may be required
